action

The two bandits Roy Colt and Winchester Jack are fighting again for the rank of leader of their rather unsuccessful group; When Roy is defeated, he decides to change his life and has himself made sheriff in Carson City, where he prevents a murder. When the citizens of the city hand him a copy of a treasure map, he does everything in his power to get it into his possession. However, through the acquaintance of a half-mad Russian Reverend, Jack also has one half of the card, the Reverend the other. Roy and Jack's paths cross again and again; The favor of the Indian seductress Mahila also changes every now and then. The Jewish desperado Berenstein and the numerous bandits of the various groups are also on the way to the treasure, which is lined with robberies on stagecoaches, dangerous situations and brothel visits. When Roy reaches the old Indian cemetery where the treasure is supposed to be, everyone else is soon there too; everyone tries to outsmart each other and get them out of the way. When only Roy and Jack are left and they fight for the booty, Mahila can run away.

criticism

"All in all, not a disappointing film", writes Christian Keßler , "in which one should not expect a serious western, however". In contrast, Ulrich P. Bruckner considers the third Bava western to be “just as bad as its predecessor”. Segnalazioni Cinematografiche wrote similarly negative (“The attempt to pep up the genre with a series of humorous interludes that are supposed to drive the story forward fails because of the banality of the ideas and the mediocrity of the implementation”) and the lexicon of international film (“Italo- Westerns with the usual brawls, vulgar dialogue and fake sex scenes. ”).
