Brett Halsey
Brett Halsey (actually: Charles Oliver Hand ; born June 20, 1933 in Santa Ana , California ) is an American film actor .
Life
Halsey had already started as a teenager for CBS Television , where he was discovered and promoted by Jack Benny , who sent him to the acting school of Universal Pictures .
Halsey played mostly in television series and took on supporting roles in various Hollywood films. After a contract with Universal, which he had since 1953, he moved to 20th Century Fox in 1959 . In 1961 he received the Golden Globe as a male young talent; The following year Halsey moved to Italy , where he appeared in spaghetti westerns and other genre films, mostly of an adventurous nature, sometimes under the pseudonym Montgomery Ford .
Halsey was married several times; from 1954 to 1959 with the former Miss Germany Renate Hoy ; then with Luciana Paluzzi . In 1964 he married Heidi Brühl , with whom he has 2 children. The marriage was divorced in 1976. In 1971 he went back to the USA and took on roles in various soap operas, such as General Hospital . But he also appeared in supporting roles in major cinema productions such as Der Pate III .
During his time in Rome, Halsey published a novel, The Magnificent Strangers (1978, ISBN 978-0552108102 ). My Soul to Keep was released in 2011 and A Grave Misunderstanding in 2014 .
