action
Dixon Sheriff Fred Leinster was drunk, and his family has meanwhile been wiped out. He bears heavily on this incident; he is relieved of his office and turns to alcohol even more intensely. Then he is drawn into a kidnapping case: little Jerry, son of the widow Jane, has disappeared; Fred's successor Cochran throws him in jail, Jane convinces Cochran of his innocence and Fred can use the ransom to reach the kidnappers' hiding place, a gold mine. There Jerry managed to escape through a hidden passage, which is why the bandits take Fred prisoner because they accuse him of embezzling the ransom. Fred discovers that the man in the background of the kidnapping is Sheriff Cochran. When he arrives at the mine, he wants to kill Fred, but he can claim the happy ending for himself with the help of the people from Jane's ranch.
criticism
The film is one of the better works that director Cardone has sliced together in the genre, writes Christian Keßler , who puts the solid staging above the disappointing course after a good start. B. Duffort notes that the enormous slowness is immediately noticeable, in the development of the story as well as in the editing. The martyr accent of the story serves the emotional wire of the viewer.
Remarks
The film song Kidnapping - also the international title of the film - is sung by Peter Boom under the pseudonym Joe Rivers .
