Peter Jorn Boom (born March 31, 1936 in Bloemendaal , † May 26, 2011 in Viterbo ) was an Italian actor and singer of Dutch origin.

Life

Boom came to Milan in 1956 to train as an opera singer after dropping out of college . He also worked as a stage actor and moved - he had been an Italian citizen since February 1961 - to Rome in 1963, where he auditioned for the RAI , but received no contract. At the “ Spoleto Festival ” in 1964 he sang in the Rosenkavalier and in the same year appeared at the “ Teatro La Fenice ” in Venice .

His deep voice has now been discovered for film songs and mainly used in spaghetti westerns, where he often collaborated with CAM Records and interpreted titles by composers such as Armando Trovaioli , Luis Bacalov , Ennio Morricone , Bruno Nicolai and Marcello Giombini .

Since the mid-1970s, Boom also took on smaller roles in films; by 2000 his filmography comprised almost 30 titles, whereby he also repeatedly took up stage offers, for example in 1979 and 1993 with Mario Carotenuto and in the 1991/1992 season with Milva in a production by Lulu .

As an author, Boom wrote two books in addition to reviews and newspaper articles, including the crime novel “Vendetta al curaro”.
