Vier Teufelskerle (original title: Campa carogna… la taglia cresce ) is a spaghetti western from the late phase of the genre staged by Giuseppe Rosati . The German-language premiere was on April 18, 1974.
action
Three Northerners come to the site of a slaughter. The Muslim bounty hunter Corano joins them - he serves as a regiment scout at Fort Apache, where a thousand dollars are put on the head of the Mexican Ángel Sánchez, who among other things stole a delivery of weapons and kidnapped an officer's daughter. The client for this was General Müller, who works for the Austrians. Corano is able to capture Sánchez, who repeatedly manages to escape and who is then caught again until he comes into the care of General Müller. He can then arrest Corano, who is freed by Chadwell and colleagues. With the help of the fort's troops, Müller's activities were brought to an end; Corano can now triumph over his three competitors for the bounty.
criticism
The lexicon of the international film judged harshly that it was a "witless and mindless spaghetti western". The director Rosati provides “a basically funny story with such cynical breaks that laughter can get stuck in the throat of a Feinbein,” says Christian Keßler and sums up: “A rough joke with some poisoned candy.” The Italian colleagues at Segnalazioni Cinematografiche criticized the "rude language and boccaccionesque situations".
Remarks
The film song The Wind in My Face sings starring Stephen Boyd .
