Daniele Vargas

Daniele Vargas (actually Daniele Pitani ; born April 20, 1922 in Bologna , † January 7, 1992 in Rome ) was an Italian actor .

Life

Vargas went to school with Pier Paolo Pasolini and initially studied medicine, which he also practiced for years. In 1957 he gave up his profession and moved to Rome, where he could pursue his passion, acting. Within a short time, the tall, massive, mostly bald-headed Vargas developed into a sought-after character actor in costume dramas and adventure films. In 1961 he appeared in Dino Risi's Una vita difficile as Marquis Cafferoni at an early high point in his career; later he often appeared in spaghetti westerns and comedies. He was also active as a voice actor. In the last few years of his career he only appeared in third-rate sex films.
