action

The criminal organization "Electra" has come into possession of a drug that turns people's consciousness off and their subconscious on. She secretly tests the drug on a colonel at a US missile base, who immediately panics and wants to fire nuclear missiles. The Colonel is shot. The US and Russian intelligence agencies decide to work together on the case, even though Agent Bill and Agent Ivan hate each other. The meeting takes place in Paris. Both parties believe that a third power has an interest in the drug. However, she does not know that the scientist Professor Roland and his colleague Monica have found an antidote for the drug. Roland is supposed to bring the antidote to a meeting in Hamburg, where the agents want to exchange ideas as part of a jewel presentation.

The notorious Gary, known as the Jewel Fox, is active in Hamburg and steals all the jewelery presented. When he tries to escape, he witnesses the murder of Professor Roland, who is carrying the antidote in a bag. Monica can take the bag. Their murder is prevented by Gary, who escapes with Monica by car. A rapid chase through Hamburg follows, in which Electra henchman Klaus, but also agents Bill and Ivan, are involved. In the end, Gary and Monica manage to find refuge in Gary's houseboat. Monica locks herself in the sleeping cabin, but Gary can still get into the cabin and look into the suitcase with the antidote.

The next morning they both try to get to the American Consulate General with their suitcase. They separate in the process. While Gary dares to flee and tries to shake off his pursuers on the Hamburg docks, Monica arrives safely at the consulate. However, your suitcase only contains a Kasper doll. After a long escape, Gary is surprised by Klaus. Although he pretends to negotiate with Gary, he knocks him down after a short time. Klaus' accomplice Silvana mixes the drug into a drink for Gary and he chats openly about his life. They eventually agree to pay $ 100,000 for delivery of the antidote. The exchange takes place. Gary is then kidnapped by Bill, Ivan and Monica, who want the antidote back. Gary manages to escape, which ends in a big fight in a bar.

Electra, meanwhile, plans to sell remedies and antidotes to the Chinese. They see a danger in Monica, who knows the antidote, and ask Monica as well before handing over the money in the amount of 500,000 dollars. Klaus kidnaps Monica to the Alps, where she is held captive in the main Electra camp. Gary followed the criminals and ended up sabotaging Operation Typhoon Delivery of Funds, Antidotes and Monica. He shoots into the crowd, causing the Chinese and gang members to kill each other. Only the boss of the group, called Electra, can escape with remedies and antidotes, while Gary takes the money left behind. With Monica he follows Electra in a gondola, but Electra turns off the power of the cable car. He gets on a light aircraft and shoots the gondola from which Gary and Monica can abseil. Both escape by car and eventually on foot, while Electra chases them from the air. In the end, Gary manages to shoot the plane from the ground, which explodes in midair after a tank leak. Means and antidotes are destroyed. Gary and Monica leave together, although Gary regrets taking money from all sides except the Russians.

criticism

Cinema magazine writes on its website that the film is "only fun with nostalgic glasses". For the film service it was a "turbulent agent adventure from the 60s: James Bond sends his regards". The Protestant film observer also came to a positive conclusion: "The film shot in a stereo process is able to entertain with its wit and speed."

Vice saw it as a film that "tells its tangle of events with a certain ease, and after all the twists and turns and intrigues one has to admit in the end: it was fun."
