Bobby Schuller (born July 28, 1981 in California ) is an American theologian , pastor of the Reformed Church of America , TV pastor of the Hour of Power since 2012 and pastor of Shepherd's Grove Church and author of Christian devotional literature .

Live and act

Robert Vernon Schuller, called Bobby Schuller, is the son of Robert Anthony Schuller and grew up in San Juan Capistrano , California. His family's roots go back to Dutch immigrants. In 1996, during an event at the Anaheim Convention Center, he decided to believe in Jesus Christ and to follow him . A year later, after his parents divorced, he moved with his mother to Tulsa , Oklahoma , went to school in Broken Arrow and then to the "Victory Christian School Tulsa". In Tulsa he got involved in the youth work "One-Eighty" of the "Church on the Move", where he also met his future wife Hannah. He obtained in 2003 at the Oral Roberts University (ORU) Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and in 2008 at Fuller Theological Seminary the Master of Divinity . Schuller is President of the St. Patrick Project, a Christian social work organization in Orange County , California . Until June 2009 he led the youth service "The Gathering" on the campus of the Crystal Cathedral . He then started the Tree of Life Community at the American Legion Hall in Orange County, which he merged with Shepherd's Grove Church in 2015 . At that time he was teaching as the youngest chaplain in the more than 150-year history of the Chautauqua Institute.

Schuller became senior pastor of the Crystal Cathedral Congregation in Garden Grove, California in May 2012 and moved with many members of that congregation to a smaller church building in the former St. Callistus' Catholic Church nearby in July 2013 , after a financially difficult period in 2012 The Crystal Cathedral campus became the property of the Catholic Diocese of Orange County. The congregation has been called Shepherd's Grove Church since then and belongs to the Reformed Church of America (RCA). Since July 2012, Schuller has been the senior pastor of the Hour of Power , a weekly television service recorded at Crystal Cathedral from 1971 to 2013 and since then at Shepherd's Grove Church , which has reached millions of viewers worldwide. He took over from his grandfather Robert Harold Schuller , who stepped down from the board of directors at Hour of Power in March 2012 and died in 2015.

Schuller worked for Channel of Hope , a Christian television network, and appeared on a number of television shows: as a panelist on Canada's 100 Huntley Street , as a juror on the reality show The Messengers , a format on The Learning Channel, as an interviewee on Daystar Television Network and from 2013 as an actor in the TV series Praise the Lord of the Trinity Broadcasting Network ( TBN ). While working as the presenter of the Frequency X show of a Canadian television station at the Expo 2000 in Hanover, he lived in Bad Gandersheim for six months . Between 2010 and 2011 he was a pastor for the Dutch TV program Hour of Power . In April 2013 he was on a lecture tour in Germany.

On 28 June 2015 Schuller was a pastor of the Reformed Church in America (RCA) ordained . He also holds regular church services abroad to meet friends and donors of the Hour of Power in person.

Private

Schuller was trained as a classical pianist. In 2003 he married his wife Hannah Presley, whose mother was born in Stuttgart . The couple have two children and live in Orange County, California .
