Bodo Helmholz

Bodo Helmholz (born May 14, 1913 in Eichwalde ; † December 24, 1991 ) was a German lawyer and President of the Hessian State Audit Office .

Career

Helmholz his doctorate in 1936 at the Law Faculty of the University of Erlangen on the theme "The extent to which multiple debts mortgage can be saved?" . From the end of the war until 1970 he was head of the State Office for Property Control and Reparation in Frankfurt am Main , which was primarily charged with restoring Jewish property expropriated during the Nazi era .

In the 1961 federal election , Helmholz ran for the FDP on the Hesse state list. In July 1970 he was the head of the traffic department in Frankfurt am Main , and later civil engineering.

As a result of the coalition agreement of the social-liberal coalition , Helmholz was elected by the state parliament on October 25, 1972 (without debate and unanimously) as president of the state audit office. He succeeded the retired Gustav Höchsmann (SPD) and held this office until 1978.
