Bodo Zimmermann , also BOZI ; (* May 29, 1902 in Filehne in the Bromberg district ; † August 25, 1945 (on the return transport to Frankfurt (Oder) )) was a German illustrator , painter and wood cutter .

Life

Bodo Zimmermann, the son of the Royal District School Inspector Paul Zimmermann and grandson of the landscape painter Prof. Emil Zschimmer , worked after his training at the Royal School of Arts and Crafts in Wroclaw , since 1922 as an illustrator, draftsman and wood cutter in his studio in Wroclaw.

His motifs deal with the Glatzer Bergland , the Giant Mountains and views from the area around Main and Tauber .

As a result of the siege and occupation, most of his work was lost. After his imprisonment on May 7, 1945, during the defense of Breslau, he died on the return transport.

  • In 1937 he received the Wroclaw City Art Prize.
  • In 1938 he received the Silesian Art Prize .
