Boghos Bedros XII. Sabbaghian , also Paul Petrus XII. Sabbaghian (born February 12, 1836 in Aleppo , Syria , † August 1915 in Constantinople ), was Patriarch of Cilicia of the Armenian Catholic Church based in Constantinople.

Life

Boghos Sabbaghian was a priest at the seminary in Bzommar . Here he developed into a writer of ritual and religious books. As a pastor , he was particularly committed to helping the poor.

Boghos Sabbagihan was appointed Bishop of Iskanderiya in Egypt on August 28, 1901 . Patriarch Boghos Bedros XI. Emanuelian consecrated him bishop on November 21, 1901. The Synod of the Armenian Catholic Church appointed him Patriarch of Cilicia on August 4, 1904. The Holy See confirmed this choice on November 14, 1904. The Patriarch was retired in April 1910 and was the Old Patriarch of Cilicia until his death in August 1915.

He consecrated Pietro Kojunian as his successor in the episcopate of Iskanderiya. As private secretary, he brought Ignatius Maloyan to the patriarchal seat. In addition to the patriarchal office, he was at the same time from 1904 to 1909 Apostolic Administrator of the Ispahan Eparchy in Iran and Archbishop of the Istanbul Archepark in Turkey , which was connected to the Patriarchate.
