Bohdan Manyschyn ( Ukrainian Богдан Манишин ; born October 24, 1972 in Novyj Rosdil , Ukrainian SSR ) is auxiliary bishop in the Ukrainian Greek Catholic eparchy Stryj in Ukraine.

Life

Bohdan Manyschyn occurred in 1996 in the Greek Catholic seminary of Lviv and received on 15 September 2002, the sacrament of the priesthood by the Bishop of Stryj, Julian Gbur SVD . After further studies, he obtained a degree in pastoral theology from the Catholic University of Lublin in 2004 .

In the following years he worked as a military pastor and in pastoral care. Since 2010 he has been Vicar General of the Stryj Eparchy.

At the suggestion of the Synod of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), he was elected auxiliary bishop in Stryj, this election was confirmed on April 2, 2014 by Pope Francis , who also appointed him titular bishop of Lesvi . He was ordained bishop by the Grand Archbishop of Kiev-Halych , Svyatoslaw Shevchuk, on May 24, 2014. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Lemberg , Ihor Wosnjak CSsR , and the Bishop of Stryj, Taras Senkiw OM .
