Bohnert ( Danish Bonert , partly. Bonum ) is southeast of the loop on the Schleswig peninsula Schwansen elevated municipality in Schleswig-Holstein .

history

Bohnert was an independent municipality until 1977. Since then the place has been part of the Kosel municipality . Historically, Bohnert is in the Koseler parish ( Danish Kosel Sogn ) within the Riesebyharde . Until the coupling in 1777 the place was owned by the Eschelsmark estate.

The place name was first documented in writing as a boner in 1352 . In the 16th century the form Bonum can be found with a secondary -t . The name is associated with the Germanic * bon for white or pure (see also blank ).

In 1417 the royal castle was built by the Danish King Erich von Pommern near Bohnert , of which only the moats have survived. In 1903 a villa was built on the site. Not far from the royal castle is the small peninsula Finsterstern ( Den mørke Stjerne ), on which a chapel is said to have stood in the Middle Ages in memory of the murder of King Erik IV in 1250. The Ornumer Noor is located south of the village as a bulge ( Noor ) of the Schlei.

Outside the town center are the settlements Bohnertfeld ( Bonertmark ), Kehlkahr ( Kelkjær ) and Hülsen ( Hylse ). To the north of Bohnertfeld lies the Hakenhöft ( Hagehoved ) peninsula , from which there used to be a ferry connection across the Schlei to Ulsnis Strand . Hülsen is an earlier Kätnerstelle, the field name (Hülse) points to holly (cf. also the Anglo-Danish name for holly hyffel or høffel ), presumably there was a husk grove here earlier.

Today there are modern holiday homes and the small Marina Hülsen .
