Bohuslav Večeřa

Bohuslav Večeřa (born May 14, 1925 , † July 25, 1977 ) was a Czechoslovak politician of the Communist Party KSČ ( Komunistická strana Československa ) , who was Minister of Agriculture and Food from 1970 to 1976 and then from 1976 until his death in 1977 Ambassador to the People's Republic of Bulgaria .

Life

Večeřa worked after training as a shoemaker in shoe factories and during this time joined the Communist Party KSČ ( Komunistická strana Československa ) . In 1950 he became a full-time functionary of the KSČ and was first agricultural secretary of the District Party Committee of Okres Jihlava and then between 1957 and 1967 agricultural secretary of the regional party committee of Liberecký kraj , before he was secretary for agriculture of the regional party committee of Severočeský kraj from 1967 to 1970 . He then graduated from the party college of the CPSU from 1970 to 1971 .

After his return was on January 28, 1970 in the first government of Prime Minister Lubomír Štrougal Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Food with the rank of Minister (Ministr - předseda Výboru pro zemědělství a výživu) . On January 1, 1971, after a reorganization, he held the post of Minister of Agriculture (Ministr zemědělství) , before he was finally appointed Minister of Agriculture and Food (Ministr zemědělství a výživy) in the second Štrougal government on December 9, 1971 . He held this ministerial office until September 14, 1976, when he was replaced by Josef Nágr .

On November 27, 1971, he also became a member of the Federation Assembly (Federální shromáždění) and was a member of the Parliament of Czechoslovakia until October 21, 1976. Within parliament he was a member of the People's Chamber (Sněmovna lidu) , which was composed of 200 members elected in electoral districts. After leaving government and parliament, he became ambassador to the People's Republic of Bulgaria in 1976 and held this diplomatic post until his death on July 25, 1977.
