Boore

Boore ( kölsch for farmers ) is a German band from Cologne , which is mainly active as a Cologne dialect band in carnival , but also has numerous appearances across the borders of Cologne all year round. The special trademark of the band are the lederhosen .

history

The band was founded in 1998 in Cologne under the name “De Boore”, before being renamed “Boore” in 2014.

In 2003, the Boore made their national breakthrough with the hit "Rut sin de Ruse" beyond the carnival. With the song, the band placed in the German single charts for the first time .

The single entered the charts several times between 2003 and 2008 and reached its highest chart rating at position 25. In the “Super-Wunsch-Hitparade” of the WDR , the Boore landed in 2004 and 2006 in second place behind Andrea Berg and were awarded the “hit sail” for this. In 2005 the SWR gave the award "bronze Gisbert" for "Rut sin de Ruse". Numerous appearances followed on Mallorca or, as in 2006, on the Cannstatter Wasen .

The Boore, u. a. present through appearances on the Närrische Hitparade , Klingendes NRW or the SWR show “ Fröhlicher Feierabend ”. At the start of the carnival session on 11.11. the Boore can be seen regularly on WDR .

In 2018, the boys with the Lederhosen not only celebrated their 20th band anniversary, but also two television premieres. For the first time in the band's history, the Boore were guests of Andrea Kiewel in the ZDF television garden on May 27, 2018 . On July 15, 2018, Stefan Mross performed on " Immer wieder sonntags " on Das Erste . At both appearances, the Boore presented their session hit “Tschau mit Au” in front of an audience of millions. Due to the success of "Tschau mit Au", a remix of the song was created in collaboration with DJ Fosco (Jan Boris Schäfer). DJ Fosco is responsible for successful remixes of u. a. Andreas Gabalier ("Hulapalu") and Helene Fischer ("roller coaster") are responsible. On September 13, 2018, the Boore returned to Mallorca after ten years of abstinence. Just in time for the Cologne Weeks, the five boys play an open air on Bierstrasse with all the hits from the 20-year history of the band.

Together with the Funky Marys , the Boore will play under the motto "Funky Marys meet Boore - anything but ordinary" from 10.-12. October 2019 three concerts in the Volksbühne on Rudolfplatz ( Millowitsch Theater ).

Drummer Peter Kellershoff is one of the founding members and is the only one who has been making music with the Boore since then. In 2002 Karlheinz Lips (guitar) joined them. The current line-up also consists of Bernd Hochheimer (keyboard, since 2013) and Kurt Schoger (bass, since 2015). The current front singer has been Chris Koch since the end of 2019.

He replaced Hendrik Brock, who had been the lead singer since 2012 as the successor to Torben Klein . After the 2011/12 session, Klein switched to the band Räuber . Hendrik Brock had already accompanied the band as a technician.

Other front singers were Tommy Watzke and Frank Henseler.

On June 11, 2019, founding member Karl-Heinz Verbeek died at the age of 57 from complications from cancer.

Discography

The first studio album was published in 2003 and was also entitled "Rut sin de Ruse".

With the title “Such a day as beautiful as today”, published in 2008, the Boore again achieved a 12-week placement in the Media Control Charts.

The second studio album entitled "Bella Colonia" was released in 2012. There are 14 songs on the album.

In October 2014 the Boore published the title “Dich einmol noch danze sin” and dedicate this song to all dance groups that train hard all year round and whose performances are voluntary.

For the 2018/19 carnival session, the song "Su oder su" was released in November 2018.

The other well-known songs of the Boore include "Wenn de Buch nit wör", "Häst you de Zäng?", "Danze dun ich nur mit dich", "Bella Colonia", "What if", "Fastelovend on the beach" and "Sha la la".
