Cabinet Hoxha V

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hoxha V cabinet was a government of the People's Socialist Republic of Albania , which was formed on July 23, 1953 by Prime Minister Enver Hoxha of the Party of Labor of Albania PPSh (Partia e Punës e Shqipërisë) . It replaced the Hoxha IV cabinet and remained in office until July 19, 1954, after which it was replaced by the Shehu I cabinet .

Since the Hoxha II cabinet was unchanged from the previous government , which resigned after the proclamation of the People's Republic on January 11, 1946, but remained in office until a new government was formed in March 1946, not everyone counted it as a separate government. As a result, the government formed in July 1950 is sometimes referred to as the Hoxha IV cabinet.

In July 1953, Omer Nishani resigned as President of Parliament . Haxhi Lleshi took office. At the same time, it was decided to reshuffle the government in order to implement a new policy of joint leadership. The cabinet was reduced from 21 to 10 ministerial posts: Ministries were merged in the areas of agriculture, mining, communications and trade.

The government stayed in office for almost a year. Several members should belong to it for many years. After the parliamentary elections on May 30, 1954, there was also a government reshuffle. With the transfer of the office of Prime Minister from Enver Hoxha to Mehmet Shehu , the distribution of important state offices to several people was continued.
