Borgoforte ( Lombard : Borchfòrt ) is a fraction of the Italian municipality of Borgo Virgilio in the province of Mantua ( Lombardy region ).

Borgoforte is located about 12.5 kilometers south-southwest of Mantua on the Po .
history
Effective February 4, 2014, Borgoforte merged with the municipality of Virgilio to form the new municipality of Borgo Virgilio. The place had 3,467 inhabitants on December 31, 2013. Neighboring communities were Bagnolo San Vito , Curtatone , Marcaria , Motteggiana , San Benedetto Po , Viadana and Virgilio.
