Ghost Brigade was a six-piece Finnish progressive death metal band from Jyväskylä that was formed in 2005 and broke up in 2020. The band has released four studio albums on the Season of Mist label.
history
The band was founded in 2005 by singer Manne Ikonen, guitarists Tommi Kiviniemi and Wille Naukkarinen, drummer Veli-Matti Suihkonen and bassist Janne Julin. The following year they released their first demo, which they sent to various magazines and labels. Thus, the band reached a contract with Season of Mist. In spring 2007 the band went to the Seawolf Studio , which is located on a small island off Helsinki . Aleksi Munter ( Swallow the Sun , Insomnium ) was represented as keyboard player . The debut album Guided by Fire was released in September, which was produced by Mikko Poikolainen and Aaro Seppovaara . After the release, some individual appearances followed in Europe . In summer 2008 the band played at Hellfest in France . In the summer an appearance at the Summer Breeze Festival followed . The album Isolation Songs was released in early August 2009, followed by Until Fear No Longer Defines Us in 2011 . In 2010 the band performed for the first time and again in 2012 at the Wacken Open Air . In 2014 the band released their fourth album "IV - One with the Storm". The album was released worldwide through the French record label Season of Mist , apart from Finland, where it was released by the band's own label, Nihil Oy . In December 2015 the band announced that they were taking an indefinite break. The final dissolution took place in August 2020.

The band's music is described as a mix of Gothic , Melodic Death and Doom Metal . Bonds from the alternative metal band Burst can also be heard.
Others
In 2010 the two guitarists Wille Naukkarinen and Tommi Kiviniemi founded the band Sons of Aeon together with the former Swallow-the-Sun drummer Pasi Pasanen .
