The Borgward BX7 is an SUV offered by the Chinese automobile manufacturer Beiqi Foton Motor under the Borgward brand . The vehicle is based on the X65 introduced in 2015 by the Chinese sub-brand Beijing Senova . The vehicle's world premiere took place in September 2015 at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt am Main . The sales in Germany were obviously stopped again. Existing customers are supplied with spare parts by the Autodis Group from Luxembourg .
Production and sales
The vehicles for the Chinese market will be produced in a new plant in Beijing . Sales for the People's Republic of China started in April 2016 at the Beijing Auto Show . Since the beginning of May 2018 the vehicle has also been sold as a limited TS edition in Germany at prices from 44,200 euros. Initially, the BX7 is only available as a TS . From the beginning of 2018, Borgward also planned to build a production facility in Bremen , where an electric version of the BX7 should be built from spring 2019. In the meantime, however, plans for a production facility in Bremen were given up due to a change in the company's shareholders. New offers or test drives for the model are also no longer available.

Drive and technology
In China, the BX7 by a 165 kW (224 hp), is charged two-liter gasoline engine driven, which was developed in photon. The BX7 has a 6-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive as standard . The SUV can optionally be equipped with a third row of seats and permanent all-wheel drive . The BX7 TS , which will be offered for market launch in Europe, is also powered by this engine.
With the intended start of production in Bremen, however, the manufacturer primarily wanted to sell electrically powered models, as initially planned. Borgward presented the Borgward BXi7 concept vehicle at the Shanghai Motor Show in April 2017 . Two together 200 kW (272 hp) payable synchronous - electric motors accelerate the h BXi7 in 6.5 seconds to 100 km / and allow a maximum speed of 200 km / h. Borgward specifies the range as 500 km. The production version of the BXi7 was presented on May 11, 2018. The 178 kW (242 hp) electric motor accelerates the SUV to 100 km / h in 7.9 seconds. Borgward specifies the top speed at 195 km / h, the range at up to 375 km.
