history

The Bosen family is mentioned in the 13th century as the ministerial of the Herford abbess in Lemgo . In 1342 Simon I pledged some possessions to Siverd II. Bosen. His sons Siverd III. and Konrad I. joined the Detmold castle team in 1340 . From October 8, 1344, Konrad I Bosen served Bernhard V. zur Lippe as a castle man in Horn . Konrad I. seemed to have been a close confidante of Bernhard V. Bernhard V expanded Horn into his residence. In 1378 Konrad II took over the fiefdom from his uncle and served the widowed noble wife Richarde zur Lippe. At that time, the family owned the Burgmannenhof in Horn, which was one of the most important noble courts in Lippe . The court was the only urban aristocratic residence in Horn at that time, as Horn was rather uninteresting for the nobility at that time. The family owned other estates in the Lippe area , which were both Lippe fiefs and allodial possessions . Two foundations in the 14th century by Konrad I and Konrad II testify to the family's prosperity. In 1556 Simon Bosen sold the Burgmannenhof to Hermann von Mengers and moved into his newly built house in Pömbsen .

The Bosen family owned the Kuhlmeier Vollspännerhof in Horn around 1525 and later around 1620. In addition, Konrad II resided in Lemgo until his death and bequeathed his house to his brother-in-law Heinrich von Driburg. From 1601 to at least 1624 Georg Bosen was the governor of Paderborn . In 1601 he defeated the Dutch before Lippspringe . The von Bosen family provided a colonel and a Rittmeister during the Thirty Years' War . At the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th century, the family provided the Vogt of Sandebeck and Driburg .
