Boston-Maine Airways (outside Pan Am Clipper Connections ) was an American airline with its headquarters in Portsmouth , New Hampshire .

history

Boston Main Airways was founded in 1999. She operated the airline Pan Am Clipper Connections and served destinations in the Caribbean and Florida . The fleet consisted of six BAe Jetstreams and three Boeing 727s . The airline flew twice a day to Bedford , Massachusetts , Trenton , New Jersey and Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport .

On February 1, 2008, the United States Department of Transportation ruled that Boston-Maine Airways was not permitted to fly due to a lack of proper administration and a lack of willingness to follow guidelines and regulations. On March 29, 2008, the last Boston Maine Airways flight took place. The company was then dissolved and the aircraft sold.

Pan Am Clipper Connections

In 1998, Boston-Maine Airways acquired the rights to the name and logo of the bankrupt Pan Am from the Guilford Transportation railway company in New Hampshire and offered connections in North America under the name "Pan Am Clipper Connections". Two Boeing 727-222 from United Airlines stocks were used for this. However, flight operations with the Boeing 727 were suspended in 2005 after disputes with the US Department of Transportation, increased costs and falling passenger numbers, and plans for expansion were put on hold. The company limited itself to domestic connections to smaller airports in the vicinity of large cities. With the end of Boston-Maine Airways, Pan Am Clipper Connections flights were also discontinued and the machines were sold.
