Otto Tenne

Otto Tenne (born January 29, 1904 in Hamburg , St. Pauli district ; † April 15, 1971 there ) was a German composer , choir director and freelance writer .

Life

Tenne initially studied music and from 1924 worked as a music accompanist for the Süddeutscher Rundfunk . In 1930 he switched to the Nordische Rundfunk AG (NORAG, later NWDR and NDR ) as a freelancer , where he worked as a composer, played the piano and put together audio sequences.

From 1933 to 1941 he directed the choir of the Low German Singing Group Hamburg. After the Second World War, however, he increasingly shifted his professional activities to work as an author of Low German texts.

From 1955 Tenne was chairman of the Quickborn Association for several years .

Otto Tenne's grave is located at grid square Y 15 (north of Nordteich ) in the Ohlsdorf cemetery in Hamburg .
