Albert Mähl
Albert Mähl (born June 5, 1893 in Kiel ; † January 19, 1970 in Hamburg ) was a German journalist and freelance writer who, in addition to poems and stories , also wrote stage works and radio plays .
Life
Born in Kiel, he first attended high school in his hometown . After completing school, Mähl worked in various professions. For example, he worked as a telephone stenographer in local government , as an editorial assistant and as a journalist. At times he was employed as a teacher in a boarding school .
In 1914, at the beginning of the First World War, he volunteered for military service. He returned home three years later after being seriously wounded. He then completed a degree in philosophy in Munich , Kiel and Zurich . He then moved to Hamburg and worked there as a freelance writer.
His numerous works also include the Low German adaptation of the comedy '' ' Der zerbrochne Krug ' 'by Heinrich von Kleist from 1924. This version also served the NWDR in Hamburg in 1952 as the basis for its radio play De Pott is twei , in which the Actors Hartwig Sievers , Hans Mahler , Otto Lüthje , Magda Bäumken and Heidi Kabel from the Ohnsorg-Theater spoke the leading roles.
In 1952, in memory of the Low German poet and writer Klaus Groth , he wrote the radio play '' 'Der Quickborn' ', the title of which refers to the volume of poems of the same name. Ohnsorg actor Heinz Lanker could be heard in the role of the poet .
Albert Mähl died in Hamburg at the age of 76, he was buried in Hamburg in the Blankenese cemetery .
