Bourmont is a village and a commune déléguée in the French commune of Bourmont-entre-Meuse-et-Mouzon with 467 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region .

With effect from June 1, 2016, the municipalities of Bourmont and Nijon were merged into a commune nouvelle with the name Bourmont-entre-Meuse-et-Mouzon .

geography

Bourmont lies on the right bank of the upper Meuse , which cuts deep into the Langres plateau here . The area is divided into a western part at about 330 m above sea level on the Meuse and an eastern part, which after a striking terrain level forms a forest-covered plateau at about 450 m above sea level (Bois de Bourmont). The village of Bourmont is enthroned on the top of a long mountain spur called Montagne du Conat about a hundred meters above the Meuse.

The commune déléguée Bourmont also includes the Gonaincourt district - an independent municipality until 1973.

Economy and Infrastructure

Nine farms are located in Bourmont (cereal and vegetable growing, dairy farming).

The D16 trunk road from Leurville to Vrécourt runs through Bourmont . Twelve kilometers southeast of Beirmont there is a connection to the A 31 autoroute from Toul to Langres . Charmes station, one and a half kilometers from Essegney, is on the Blainville-Damelevières-Lure railway line . The Culmont-Chalindrey-Toul railway line runs without stopping along the banks of the Meuse .
