Bowling Green is the administrative seat of Pike County in the northeast of the US state Missouri .

Bowling Green is 39 ° 20'30 "north latitude and 91 ° 12'00" west longitude. The city extends over an area of 5 km², which consists exclusively of land.
US Highways 61 and 54 intersect in Bowling Green . Highway 61 is 137 km south-southeast to St. Louis and 52 km north to Hannibal , Missouri.
The city is 12 miles west of the Mississippi River , over which Highway 54 in Louisiana crosses a bridge to the neighboring state of Illinois .
