Raymond "Boz" Burrell (born August 1, 1946 in Holbeach ( Lincolnshire ), † September 21, 2006 in Marbella ) was a British musician . He was known as the bass player for King Crimson and Bad Company .

Career

In the mid-1960s, Burrell was the singer "The Boz People". During this time he briefly replaced Roger Daltrey at The Who .

In the late 1960s he released solo singles as a singer under the name Boz . He was accompanied by Ritchie Blackmore , Ian Paice and Jon Lord , who shortly thereafter founded Deep Purple . He also sang on Keith Tippett's album Septober Energy .

In the early 1970s, Burell joined King Crimson as a singer and bassist. In 1971 he played on the album Islands and the live album Earthbound . In 1973 Burrell formed the band Snape with members from King Crimson and Alexis Korner's band.

In 1973 he became a founding member of Bad Company . He stayed in the band until 1999.

After leaving Bad Company, Burrell worked with Tam White and in the 2000s with Zoot Money's Big Roll Band . In 2006, he died of a heart attack in Spain at the age of 60.
