Beer glass of the brewery

The Bosch GmbH & Co. KG brewery is an artisanal brewery in Bad Laasphe . It is the third oldest brewery in North Rhine-Westphalia and the oldest company in Wittgensteiner Land .

history

In 1705 the company was founded by the baker Johann Friedrich Schuppert (1661–1730). The business was continued through his son Johann Friedrich Schuppert (1697–1762) and his grandson Christian Friedrich Schuppert (1741–1808). Because of the barren soil, one job was hardly enough to survive at that time. Hence the Schupperts were farmers, bakers, innkeepers and brewers.

Brauhaus Zur Sonne, the headquarters of the Bosch brewery

In 1825 Georg Eberhard Bosch came to Laasphe from Siegerland to do an apprenticeship with Christian Friedrich Schuppert and learn the brewing trade. After Friedrich Christian Schuppert's daughter married, the brewery was named Bosch after his death.

On September 15, 2007, Hans-Christian Bosch took over the management of the traditional brewery. The family business is now in the eleventh generation.

The brewery sells its beers in particular in the districts of Siegen-Wittgenstein , Marburg-Biedenkopf , Gießen , Hochsauerland , Lahn-Dill-Kreis and in the Mainz - Wiesbaden region .

For the national and international market, beers are produced under the Propeller Getränke brand, for which a formally independent GmbH was founded.

The Bosch Brewery has its own fan club, the Bosch Beer Club , which has over 1,000 members.

The Brauereigasthof Zur Sonne in Bad Laaspher Königstraße is the parent house of the Bosch brewery family and is still operated as a brewery inn today.

Brand strategy

The Bosch brewery deliberately positions itself as a craft alternative to the neighboring industrial breweries. For example, no industrial hop extract is used in the production of Bosch beer and natural hops in pellet form are used instead. The beers are not pasteurized before bottling, but bottled natural. The long maturation times of the beer of up to three months are a special feature.

The brewery maintains its own fleet of trucks for deliveries to restaurants and events.

The brand's official advertising slogan is Bosch. Different since 1705 .

Awards

The Bosch brewery is one of three breweries in North Rhine-Westphalia that has been awarded the Slow Brewing seal of approval . It is considered the strictest international seal of approval for beer.

In addition, the brewery's beers have won several awards at the European Beer Star , the World Beer Cup and the German Agricultural Society (DLG) .

The state of North Rhine-Westphalia honored the product quality and the commitment of the brewery with the state award for food and with the plaque of honor for the craft Meister.Werk.NRW .
