The bride and groom are about 26 meters high, double rock formation near the small town of Dahn in Rhineland-Palatinate in the southern Palatinate Forest , the German part of the Wasgau .

geography

The bride and groom are located south-west of the city near the Dahn Youth Hostel, 232  m above sea level. NN . Opposite in the northeast, beyond the Wieslauter , rises Dahn's landmark, the 70 meter high Jungfernsprung . The surrounding Dahner Felsenland is particularly rich in such strikingly shaped red sandstone cliffs , which have been left behind by the weathering and removal of softer rock layers.

Sport climbing

The bride and groom are one of the most popular destinations in the Südpfalz climbing area . According to the nomenclature of sport climbers , there are two towers with a chimney between them . It is called the Great Fireplace and has a (medium) difficulty level III on the UIAA scale . The difficulty levels of the eleven designated climbing routes vary between I and VII-.
