The Bregenzer Hütte is one of the six huts of the Friends of Nature in Vorarlberg (NFI). A ten-bed, a six-bed and a four-bed room (shared shower) are available for overnight hikers.
history
The Bregenz Hut as a hiking base emerged from an apiary at the end of the 1950s . The Naturfreunde Vorarlberg, local group Bregenz, expanded this apiary as a clubhouse. At first the hut was only used in winter for the club's internal ski touring courses. Over time, the hut was opened to the public and expanded. Between 2007 and 2009 around 42,000 euros were invested in renovations. In 2012/2013 a biological sewage treatment plant was added and the sanitary areas and accommodation were also renovated.
Location and access
The Bregenz Hut is in the community of Schwarzenberg in the Bregenz Forest on the Klausberg. There is no public access.
