When he was sent to Dallas, his contract year was already running. In the offseason he then signed a 6-year contract with the Mavs worth 55 million. Haywood was originally scheduled as a starter for the 2010/2011 season. But the just brought Tyson Chandler was able to push him to the bench. This season he had the worst free throw rate in the league with 36%. However, he moved into the finals with his team and won the NBA championship there in 2011. After a total of two and a half years, Haywood was released from the Mavericks under the amnesty clause. His contract is therefore no longer counted towards the team salary.

Charlotte Hornets, then still Bobcats (2012-2014)
