The Brenne is a river in France that runs in the Center-Val de Loire region . It rises in the municipality of Pray , drains generally in a south-westerly direction and flows 54 kilometers below Vernou-sur-Brenne , just east of Tours , as a right tributary into the Cisse , which itself flows into the Loire shortly afterwards . On its way, the Brenne crosses the Loir-et-Cher and Indre-et-Loire departments .
