Château-Renault is a French municipality with 5001 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Loches and is the capital of the canton of Château-Renault . The city lies on the Brenne , directly at the confluence of its tributary Gault .
