Manthelan is a French commune with a population of 1,363 (as at 1st January 2017) in Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Loches and the canton of Descartes (until 2015: canton of Ligueil ). The inhabitants are called Manthelanais .

Manthelan is about 29 kilometers south-southeast of Tours . Manthelan is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Louroux in the north and north-west, Tauxigny-Saint-Bauld in the north, Dolus-le-Sec in the east and north-east, Mouzay in the east and south-east, Vou in the south and south-east, La Chapelle-Blanche-Saint- Martin in the south and Bossée in the west and southwest.
