La Celle-Saint-Avant is a French commune with 1,080 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Loches and the Canton of Descartes . The inhabitants are called cellois .
geography
La Celle-Saint-Avant is about 41 kilometers south-southwest of Tours on the Creuse , which borders the municipality in the south. La Celle-Saint-Avant is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Maillé in the north and northwest, Draché in the north, Marcé-sur-Esves in the east, Descartes in the southeast, Port-de-Piles in the south and Nouâtre in the west and northwest.
