Brian Keith Bosworth ( nicknamed "The Boz"; * 9. March 1965 in Oklahoma City , Oklahoma ) is a former American American football poker players and actors .
Life
Brian Bosworther was already an outstanding player in college and won the Dick Butkus Award twice as a linebacker for the Oklahoma Sooners , which honors the best college linebacker of the season. No other player has managed that since then. He was best known for his extravagant hairstyles and his disrespectful manner, whereby he did not avoid public disputes.
For the professional league National Football League (NFL) he was drafted in 1987 by the Seattle Seahawks . Since Bosworth wanted to keep his jersey number from college, the number 44, but this was not available in the NFL for linebackers, he was officially signed as fullback . The NFL initially let this go, but put an end to the process and Boworth was forced to move to number 55. Bosworth then sued the NFL, but failed. In 2015, the NFL finally allowed linebackers to wear 40s numbers. This rule change is known as the "Brian Bosworth Rule". His contract was a record for a newcomer to the NFL as well as the Seahawks overall, at $ 11 million for 10 years. He played as a linebacker in defense from 1987 to 1989. Since he seriously injured his shoulder after three seasons and had to give up professional sport, the impression remained that he was not worth the money. He appears at number 6 in the list of the biggest losers in US sport since 1979, which was published by the sports broadcaster ESPN in 2004. Contrary to this impression, however, he played very well in his three years.
In 1991, Bosworth made his actor debut and appeared in the action film Stone Cold . Appearances in various series and film productions followed. In 1996 he took on a leading role in the action thriller One Tough Bastard . He made smaller appearances a. a. in Three Kings (1999) and Game Without Rules (2005).

But 44 is off-limits for NFL linebackers, so when the Seahawks drafted Boz, they claimed they'd occasionally use him as a fullback. They got away with this at first, but the NFL soon put the kibosh on it, and Bosworth had to switch to No. 55. "
