Bruno Fischer-Uwe

Bruno Fischer-Uwe (* 1915 ; † 1992 in Worpswede ) was a German painter and university professor .

Life

Bruno Fischer-Uwe was born in Lorraine and had a French mother and a German father. In 1918 his mother died and he moved to Bremerhaven with his father . In 1964 he became director of the Osnabrück Art Academy and in 1971 professor at the Dublin Art Academy. In 1971 he moved to Worpswede. He died after a long illness and was buried in the cemetery at the Zionskirche in Worpswede.

Works

Fischer-Uwe mainly painted landscape and nature pictures. His pictures have been exhibited in Brussels , Rome , Paris , Barcelona , Berlin , Oslo and New York , among others . In Lübeck there is a sculpture with the name Alt-Lübeck and his monk being .
