Fancy Chemutai (born March 20, 1995 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specializes in 10,000 m and the half marathon .

Career

In her debut at the Prague half marathon , she came third, at the Göteborgsvarvet in Gothenburg she won in 1:07:58 h. In Valencia on October 22, 2017, she finished second behind Joyciline Jepkosgei with 1:05:36 h .

In 2018 she won the RAK half marathon with the second fastest ever run time of 1:04:52 h, just ahead of her compatriots Mary Keitany and Caroline Chepkoech Kipkirui . She missed Joyciline Jepkosgei's current world record by just one second.

In 2019 Chemutai won the 10,000 m at the BAA 10K (Boston Athletic Association) in Boston with 30:36 minutes and thus set a new event record. In September 2019 she was only one second slower and was at the 10 km road race Birell 10k Race in Prague with 30:37 min behind Sheila Chepkirui (29:57 min), Dorcas Jepchumba Kimeli (29:57 min) and Norah Jeruto ( 30:07 min) (all runners from Kenya) fourth.
