Bruno Giuseppe Fratus (born June 30, 1989 in Macaé , Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian swimmer who specializes in the short freestyle courses. In the 50m freestyle he was Olympic gold medalist in London in 2012 and won three medals at world championships.

At the 2011 World Swimming Championships in Shanghai , Fratus was fifth in the 50 m freestyle in 21.96 seconds; His compatriot César Cielo became world champion in 21.52 s. At the Pan American Games of the same year in Guadalajara , Mexico , two gold medals jumped out for him in the relay and a silver over 50 m freestyle. At the 2012 Olympics , he missed bronze on his special route with 21.61 by just two hundredths of a second compared to César Cielo.

In the spring of 2013, Fratus underwent shoulder surgery, which is why he had to take a two-year break from competition.
