Bruno Knapp

Bruno Knapp (born March 8, 1925 ; † September 15, 2010 in Offenbach am Main ) was a German local politician ( CDU ).

Life

Knapp studied law with a subsequent doctorate and then worked as a lawyer and notary in an Offenbach law firm . Later he founded his own law firm. From 1960 he was a city ​​councilor and two years later became parliamentary group leader of the CDU. After the local elections in 1964, he was confirmed in office and remained in this position for a total of eight years. Following the local elections in 1977 he became head of the city ​​council ; he held this position until 1985. From 1980 to 1996 Knapp was a member of the Hessian State Court in Kassel . For many years he was chairman of the Offenbach CDU and the Offenbach Lawyers' Association, of which he was later appointed honorary chairman .

He was the initiator of associations for the reconstruction of the Büsing-Palais and the Lili-Temple and was committed to the expansion of the Klingspor Museum .

Honors

He was awarded the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany. In 1993 he was made an honorary citizen of Offenbach am Main.
