Bruno Kresing

Bruno Kresing (born September 5, 1929 in Hamm ; † August 23, 2020 in Salzkotten ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman , vicar general and cathedral capitular in the Archdiocese of Paderborn .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1950, Kresing studied philosophy and theology at the Theological Faculty in Paderborn and at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . On 26 May 1955 he received in Paderborn Cathedral by Archbishop Lorenz Jaeger , the ordination . He received his first pastoral care position as vicar in St. Vincenz in Menden in the Sauerland . Exempted for further studies to become a religion teacher for cath. In 1958 he became a subsidiary of religion and history in Bielefeld . Kresing passed the first state examination in 1962 and the second state examination in 1963. In 1967 he was appointed senior teacher ; from 1970 he was also responsible for religious instruction at secondary schools in the Archdiocese of Paderborn.

In 1973 he was appointed director of the Archbishop's Theologian Convict Collegium Leoninum and director of the Pontifical Work for Spiritual Professions in the Archdiocese of Paderborn. Archbishop Johannes Joachim Degenhardt appointed him vicar general of the Archdiocese of Paderborn on April 10, 1974 . He held this office until Cardinal Degenhardt's death on July 25, 2002.

In addition, Kresing was active in numerous communities, for example in 1959 as curate of the St. Georg Boy Scouting Union , in 1963 as spiritual director of the Heliand Association, and in 1965 as a Mark Kaplan and in 1967 as a spiritual director (Federal Chaplain) in the Bund New Germany . From 1970 to 1973 he was a board member of the Association of Catholic Religious Teachers at Higher Schools in the Archdiocese of Paderborn. As vicar general he took on other tasks such as a member of the board of directors in 1974 and deputy chairman of the Aachener Gemeinnützige Wohnungsbaugesellschaft in 1990 . In 1974 he took over the chairmanship of the Clemens-Hofbauer-Hilfswerk and in 1977 an engagement in the general board of the Bonifatiuswerk , whose chairman in the Archdiocese of Paderborn he became in 1981. From 1978 to 1994 he was chairman of the commission for school law of the Association of Dioceses of Germany and from 1978 to 1994 spokesman for the shareholders' meeting of the Bonifatius printing works in Paderborn.

With his 75th birthday in September 2004, he was relieved of all duties as a member of the board of directors, clergy and canon. He last lived in Paderborn.
