Bruno Laurent (born December 29, 1975 in La Louvière -Haine-Saint-Paul) is a Belgian chess player .

Life

At the elite tournament in Charleroi he was successful several times, he won it for example in September 2000 and January 2006. In October 2005 he won the International Santa Olaya Open in Asturias . In 2008 he was able to win the Belgian individual championship in Eupen before Alexandre Dgebuadze .

Bruno Laurent played for the Belgian national team at two chess Olympiads : 2004 in Calvià on the second reserve board and 2008 in Dresden on the reserve board as well as the European Championship 2007 in Heraklion on the fourth board.

In Belgium he plays for CRE Charleroi ; With the club he took part in the European Club Cup in 2006 and 2008 and was Belgian team champion in 2012 . In France he plays for Le Cavalier Noir d'Arras and in the Netherlands for the Rotterdam club Charlois Europoort . He has also played in the Luxembourg team championship. In Germany he played in the 2. Bundesliga West for Turm Bergheim in the 2005/06 season and in the NRW class for the Cologne club Schachfreunde Brück in 2006/07 .

Since July 2006 he has held the title of International Master . He already achieved the standards for this at the 1st GM tournament in Bogny-sur-Meuse in July 2002, at the tournament in Charleroi in August 2002, at the CCAS Grand Prix in Cap d'Agde in October 2003 and at the international tournament in Charleroi in August 2004, although he had to wait almost two years before he had exceeded the required Elo rating of 2400.
