Bruno Lindner

Martin Traugott Bruno Lindner (born October 25, 1853 in Leipzig , † May 20, 1930 in Dresden ) was an Indologist .

Life

Bruno Lindner came from a family of scholars, because his father Wilhelm Bruno Lindner and his grandfather Friedrich Wilhelm Lindner were professors at the University of Leipzig. Bruno Lindner studied philology at the University of Leipzig from the winter semester 1871/72 to the summer semester 1873 .

From the winter semester 1878/79 to the summer semester 1887 he taught Persian and Indian philology as a private lecturer . From the winter semester 1887/88 to the winter semester 1918/19 he was associate professor at the University of Leipzig.

He lived in his parents' house at Lindenstrasse 8 in Leipzig until 1887, from 1887 to 1890 at Inselstrasse 10 and from 1890 to 1901 at Egelstrasse 8. In 1901 he moved to Gaschwitz and in 1913 back to Leipzig at Südstrasse 33 (today Karl -Liebknecht-Strasse ).
