Bruno Röhr

Bruno Röhr (born June 27, 1875 in Weimar ; † June 15, 1926 there ) was a German architect .

Life

During his studies in Karlsruhe , Röhr became a member of the Arminia Karlsruhe fraternity in 1893 . He returned to Weimar around 1900 and soon became self-employed as an architect.

Under the direction of Henry van de Velde , Röhr was brought in for the second construction phase of the main building of the Weimar Art School, which was completed in 1911. Röhr's contract with the Court Marshal's Office for this extension is located in the Thuringian main state archive in Weimar.

His buildings reveal the influence of reform architecture and later the Bauhaus and New Building .

Bruno Röhr was a member of the German Werkbund and the Thuringian Architects and Engineers Association .

The architect Carl Bimboes worked temporarily in Röhr's office in the 1920s.

  • 1925/1926: competition design for the town hall in Weimar (together with Karl Pfeiffer; not executed)
  • 1926: Substation for the Thuringian state electricity supply company in Jena- Nord
