Bruno Storni (born August 17, 1954 in Gordola ; resident in Tenero-Contra ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life

Bruno Storni is a trained electrical engineer . He was a member of the Federal Commission for Space Issues and lecturer at the SUPSI University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland . Storni works as a lecturer at the ETH Lausanne . He is married with three grown children and lives in Gordola.

politics

Bruno Storni was a member of the local council (legislature) of Gordola from 1996 to 2000. Since 2000 he has been a member of the Municipio (executive) of Gordola, where he is responsible for the drinking water supply and traffic planning.

From 2011 until his move up to the National Council in 2019, Bruno Storni was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Ticino , where he was a member of the Environment, Spatial and Energy Commission and the Audit and Finance Commission.

In the national parliamentary elections on October 20, 2019 , Bruno Storni was the first substitute for the SP. After Marina Carobbio was elected to the Council of States , he was able to move up to the National Council. He is a member of the Commission for Transport and Telecommunications and a substitute member of the editorial commission.

Bruno Storni is a board member of the Swiss Engineering Association and a board member of the Aid Fund Foundation and the Swiss Engineering Foundation in Zurich and the Fondazione Istituto Ricerche Solari in Locarno. Storni is the Vice President of the Swiss Transport Club .
