Marco Romano (born November 6, 1982 in Sorengo , resident in Mendrisio ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Life

After graduating from high school , Romano studied at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Bern . In 2006 he received his degree in Political and Social Sciences. He then continued his studies in public law and journalism. From 2004 Romano sat in the Mendrisio legislature . From 2006 to 2007 he worked as personal assistant to Luigi Pedrazzini , Head of the Department of Justice, Security and Home Affairs. Afterwards he worked as general secretary of CVP Ticino until 2012 and was also director and editor-in-chief of the weekly newspaper Menschen und Freiheit .

Romano lives in Mendrisio, is single and has no children.

politics

Romano has been part of the 2011 parliamentary elections to the National Council and is a member of the Political Institutions Committee and the immunity Commission and in 2013, founded at the initiative of beverage manufacturers lobby group for sweet drinks IG soft drinks . In addition to his parliamentary work, he works as a consultant at Fidinam.

Within his party, he speaks out against the opening of marriage to homosexual couples in Switzerland.
