The Buckhorn State Park is a State Park in Juneau County in the US state of Wisconsin . It is located on a peninsula on the Wisconsin River dammed up to Castle Rock Lake . The Yellow River flows into the reservoir west of the peninsula. The 2.829 km² protected area is 10 km south of Necedah and 15 km northeast of New Lisbon .
fauna
Beavers , muskrats , ducks , Canada geese , great blue herons , minks , otters and herons are found by the water in the state park . Coyotes , black bears , turkeys and white-tailed deer can be found on land . Birds that should be mentioned are owls , ospreys and hawks .
flora
In addition to oaks , the State Park also has asters , bergamots , Euphorbia corollata and goldenrods . The grass species are Andropogon gerardii and Sorghastrum nutans .
