The Buena Vista Township is one of 22 townships in Clayton County in the northeast of the US -amerikanischen state of Iowa .

The Buena Vista Township is located in northeast Iowa on the Mississippi , which forms the border with Wisconsin . The city of Dubuque at the intersection of the states of Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois is located around 40 km to the southeast.
The Buena Vista Township is located at 42 ° 40 ' N , 90 ° 58' W and extends over 51.48 km², which is spread over 46.18 km² of land and 5.3 km² of water.
The Buena Vista Township borders within Clayton County only to the west on Millville Township , while it borders on Dubuque County to the south, southeast and east . In the north and northeast, the Mississippi forms the border with Grant County in Wisconsin.

The Iowa section of the Great River Road runs through the Buena Vista Township . There are also a number of subordinate county roads leading away from the river and further subordinate roads, some of which are unpaved.
