Built to Last is the fourth studio album by the American hardcore band Sick of It All . It was released in February 1997 on EastWest / Equal Vision Records .
Origin and style
On Built to Last , the band's second and last major label album, the band consistently continued to focus on fast, melodic hardcore with the occasional Oi! Elements. The band worked for the first time with GGGarth ( Rage Against the Machine ) as a producer, who helped the album to a compact sound.
reception
Allmusic's Jason D. Taylor wrote that the album was another “solid package of fast hardcore punk”. It awarded three out of five stars. Joachim Hiller from Visions wrote: “Of course everything is staged in a sovereign manner, lyrically pleasantly thought out and thrilling from the first bar. The unusually rhythmic single 'Jungle' is particularly excellent. "
