The Federal Office of Finance ( BfF ) was a German higher federal authority within the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of Finance . It was founded on September 3, 1971 and divided into three offices on January 1, 2006:
- Center for Information Processing and Information Technology (ZIVIT), a merger with the previous Center for Information and Data Technology (ZID)
- Federal Office for Central Services and Unresolved Property Issues (BADV), merged with the Federal Office for the Regulation of Unresolved Property Issues (BARoV)
- Federal Central Tax Office (BZSt)
His tasks included a. Participation in tax audits of large companies and the support of the tax offices in the taxation of Germans with foreign income.
The Federal Office also provided services for other authorities. For this, the Zahlbarmachung included, for example the remuneration of officials, employees, workers and the welfare recipients of federal as well as the calculation and payment of travel expenses , child support and the aid for these persons.
The Federal Office or its successor authorities report directly to the Federal Ministry of Finance .
