Federal Supervisory Office for Securities Trading

The Federal Supervisory Office for Securities Trading ( BAWe ) in Frankfurt am Main , as the supervisory authority for securities trading, was responsible for monitoring and enforcing the Securities Trading Act , the Securities Acquisition and Takeover Act and the Securities Prospectus Act . The BAWe was founded in 1995. The first - and only - President of the BAWe was Georg Wittich .

On May 1, 2002, together with the Federal Supervisory Offices for the Credit System (BAKred) and for the Insurance Industry (BAV), the newly established Federal Financial Supervisory Authority became an all-round financial supervisory authority.
